Mrs. Hazel Rorie Watts

Mrs. Hazel Rorie Plyler Watts, 82, of Monroe, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024. She was born September 19, 1942, in Monroe the youngest daughter of the late Raymond and Bernice Rorie. In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Willie Watts, a son, Ricky Plyler, grandson, Lacy Watts, a great grandson, Cody Simpson, daughter in-law, Yana Plyler, a sister, Edith Keziah, brothers, Earl, Ray, Alvin, and Carson Rorie.
Funeral service for Hazel will be held from the graveside Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery 3530 Hwy 601 North Pageland, SC 29728. The family will receive friends Friday, November 29, 2024, at Solid Rock Baptist Church 2021 Claude Austin Rd, Monroe, NC 28112 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
She retired after 30 years from Union County Public Schools. She loved working with Cub Scouts, RA;s, GA's and Acteens, Sunday School, Training Union, and VBS. Most of all she loved her family.
Hazel is survived by sons, Scott Watts (Ann), Robbie Plyler (Debbie), Billy Plyler (Chandra), daughters, Donna Simpson (Chip), Karen Dorton (Mike), Candie Porter (Fred), 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Billy Rorie and sisters in law, Wynona and Peggy Rorie.
