Hazel M. Wetzel

Hazel M. Wetzel entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the age of 86. She was born on December 29, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas.
Hazel is dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Hazel was the oldest of six children of Herbert and Moraine McDougall who have preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother and sisters Herbert McDougall, Wanda Bublik, Beverly Leiding and preceded in death by her two younger brothers Bobby and Wyle McDougall.
She was married to her high school sweetheart Thomas Wetzel for 67 years prior to her passing. Together they had three children, Donna Blackmon, Thomas T. Wetzel (deceased), and Steven Wetzel who gave them five beautiful grandchildren, Eric, Tiffany, Zoey, Nicole, and Zoe; and nine great-grandchildren.
Hazel worked part-time as a Bookkeeper and Real Estate Agent and full-time as a wife, mother and Domestic Engineer. She loved to read historical novels, she was a master at crossword puzzles, sudoku, she loved old movies, going to the Theater, restaurants, family gatherings, playing with her grandkids and long afternoon naps.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 12:00pm with a Rosary and Celebration of Life to begin at 1:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.
