Heather Mariette Sanchez

Heather Mariette (Sallstrom) Sanchez, 40, of Ellington, beloved wife of Misael Sanchez, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at Hartford Hospital with her husband at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Manchester, the daughter of Monique Gallant of Ellington and Carl Sallstrom of Tolland, she grew up and lived in Vernon and East Hartford before moving to Ellington five years ago. She was a graduate of East Hartford High School and also earned her associates degree. Heather was a missionary in Honduras for three years with Ambassadors for Christ International USA. She was presently employed by the Travelers Insurance Company. She was a devoted and active member of the Manchester Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by her sister, Erica Sallstrom of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts; her stepsister, Katie Marquardt of Berlin; her stepmother Linda Sallstrom of Tolland; two nieces, Caitlyn Barnes of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and Madisyn Mirolli of Agawam, Massachusetts; her cousin, Amber Sallstrom of Stafford; and her two companions, her beloved dogs, Josie and Teddy.

Her family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Manchester Church of Christ, 595 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester.

A celebration of life service will be at the church on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
