Heather Zhou Schipske, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, with her husband at her side, after being surrounded continuously by family and friends for twenty days.
Heather’s life was defined by kindness and deep devotion to the people she loved—most of all her two beautiful children, Lauren and Johnny. She was born on May 5, 1983, in Beijing, China. Heather was the beloved daughter of Linyi Zhou, sister to Anne Cooley and Andrew Cooley, and aunt to Clark and Cate.
In April 1989, Heather joined her mother and stepfather in Terre Haute, Indiana, arriving from China speaking no English. Later that year, the family moved to San Jose, California. While she lived in several places, Texas always held a special place in Heather’s heart after moving to San Antonio in the fall of 1991.
Heather attended Texas State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Foods. At the end of her senior year, she met her husband, Geoff Schipske, and they were blessed to share twenty wonderful years together. Heather took her health and well-being seriously and spent much of her career as a registered dietitian. After the birth of her second child, she felt ready for a change and began a new chapter working for a CPA group that she truly adored.
Heather’s legacy is one of grace and an unwavering belief in the goodness of others. Whether as a friend, sister, daughter, wife, niece, or mother, she touched countless lives by finding ways to bring people together. While she will forever be cherished for her strength and determination, what will be remembered most is her love and her kindness.
A memorial service for Heather will be held at 2:00 p.m. (CT), Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Allen Family Funeral Options. A reception with food and drinks will follow the service. Those who wish to share a few words in Heather’s memory are warmly invited to do so during the reception.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary outpouring of love and support during this time.
Family and friends are also invited to a Celebration of Life honoring Heather around May 5th. Details will be shared by the family in the coming weeks.
Flowers are welcome for the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the charitable organization of your choice in Heather’s memory, or to one of the two listed below.
