Hector E Ramirez M.D.

Dr. Hector Ramirez, a beloved figure in the Melbourne, FL community for over 35 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11th, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was 66 years old.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Hector showed exceptional promise from a young age. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico and continued his education at Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine, launching a distinguished medical career. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, he continued with a Fellowship in Rheumatology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
Hector is survived by his devoted wife, Denise Ramirez; daughter, Katie [Sam] Ramirez Howe; son, Paul [Jessica] Ramirez; cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Brenner, and Ruth Ramirez. Hector is also survived by his sisters, Eyla Ramirez Calimano and Juliana [Jose] Ramirez Melendez.
As a dedicated physician, Hector served the Melbourne community for 35 years as a Doctor of Rheumatology before retiring in 2022. His patients held him in high regard for his expertise and compassionate nature.
Beyond medicine, Hector had a deep passion for travel and adventure, exploring the world alongside his beloved wife, Denise. Their journeys created lasting memories, captured in countless photographs he delighted in sharing with family and friends.
Hector will be fondly remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering zest for life. An enthusiastic boater and fisherman, he shared his love for the water with those closest to him. Known for his infectious optimism, Hector had a remarkable ability to find the bright side in any situation, making everyone feel welcomed and at ease in his presence.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Hospice of Health First.
We warmly welcome all who knew and loved Hector to join us in a celebration of his life on Saturday, July 20th, 2024. A funeral service will be held at The Beach Funeral Home in Satellite Beach, starting at noon. Following the service, a reception to celebrate his life will be hosted by the family at the Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront.
