Hector L. Rivera Jr.

Hector L. Rivera Jr., 54, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. Born on February 5, 1971, in Wallingford, Connecticut, Hector's life was a testament to the strength and compassion that he carried with him every day.
Hector's early years in Wallingford were filled with the love and guidance of his mother, Lucy (Mercado) Rivera Dombroski, and his father, the late Hector L. Rivera Sr., who instilled in him the values of faith and service that would define his life's work. As he grew, Hector's innate ability to lead and his desire to help others led him to a distinguished career as a Construction Manager for FEMA. His dedication to rebuilding communities in the aftermath of disasters showcased his unwavering commitment to serving those in need.
In addition to his mother Lucy, Hector will be missed by his daughters, Jasmin Rivera, Janelle Rivera and Juliana Rivera; his sisters, Linda Pantermalis and Gladys Lysette Rivera; his grandchildren, Julian, Joseph and Joel; his godparents, Gabriel Ramos Jr., and Norma Ramos; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Hector's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 1, 2025, in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., from 9:00am to 11:15am when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
