Hector Tarango Obituary
Hector H Tarango, 67, of Pecos, Texas, passed away, on January 14, 2026. Leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born to Rey and Celia Tarango in Pecos, he was a proud graduate of Pecos High School.
On September 5, 1981, Hector married Elva Tarango, who became the love of his life. Their marriage was a beautiful journey marked by devotion to each other and their family, filled with joy and shared memories.
Hector pursued further education at Odessa College, where he earned his welding certification—a craft he cherished. He dedicated 23 years of his life to serving with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) before retiring after seven years with Reeves County Road and Bridge.
Above all, Hector treasured his family and found immense joy in the simple moments spent with loved ones. He was known for his love of music, often playing guitar and singing, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. His warm spirit, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed and forever remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Hector is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Rey Tarango, and his parents, Rey and Celia Tarango.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elva Tarango; his daughter, Tiffany T. Dominguez; his son, Joe Rey Tarango; his sisters, Crissy Florez and Ymelda Rodriguez; and his five grandchildren: Benjamin, Sophia, Lorenzo, Ava, and Mia.
Pallbearers include Alvaro Hinojos, Jay Hinojos, Robert Ramirez, Armando Hinojos, Antonio Hinojoz Jr., Jeremy Ramirez, Bobby Florez, and Keanu Matos. Honorary pallbearers are Gilbert Herrera, Jesse Anchondo, Manuel Gonzales, and Larry Levario.
Visitation will be held for Hector on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home.
Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 10:00 am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos.
Hector will be laid to rest following the Funeral Mass at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to UT Southwestern University Medical Center and Texas Oncology, along with their friends and family, for their unwavering support during this difficult time. Memorial contributions may be made to Pecos Funeral Home in Hector's honor.
Hector's life will be celebrated through the memories he created and the love he shared.
