Helen Barnett Beck

Helen Barnett Beck, 102, widow of A. Stanley Beck, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025, at her home on Churchill Crossing, Nicholasville, Kentucky. She was born at home in Pittsburg, Illinois, on June 25, 1922, to the late Martin and Bertha Barnett. Helen had worked as a schoolteacher and was a strong family woman who deeply loved her children, siblings, and extended family. She was a devoted minister’s wife, having served with her husband, Stanley, in Northern Illinois for many years. Helen also had a passion for gospel quartet music. In her recent time on this earth, she and her family built a close relationship with her sitter, Dolly Hernandez, for which they are forever grateful. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gary Vincent Beck and Rev. Jerry Beck (Terri); and grandchildren, Keara Beck-Ortt (Erik) and Brittany Thornton (David). In addition to her husband, Stanley, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Barnett and Fern Brewer; and brother, Earl Barnett. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, June 16, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Beck officiating. Burial will follow at the Frankfort Cemetery.
