Mrs. Helen Ruth Bennett (Deapo), age 79, passed away peacefully in Oswego, New York. Born on March 27, 1945, in Syracuse, New York, Helen lived a life filled with kindness, thoughtfulness, and an enduring smile that brightened the lives of those around her. Helen was the daughter to the late Carol Rogers and Howard Deapo Sr She was the beloved wife of the late Willard Bennett and is predeceased by her brother Howard Deapo and sister Nancy Wolfe.
She is survived by her loving children: Pamela Franks (Jamie) of Greenville, NC; Scott Bennett (Candace) of Fulton, NY; and Carol Bennett (Dawson) of Fulton, NY. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters Patricia Brown of North Syracuse and Betty Walters (SIL) of Troy, NY. Several Nieces and nephews. Helen's legacy continues through her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
Throughout her years, Helen dedicated herself to helping others. She volunteered at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton, NY, contributed to the Hannibal Women's Auxiliary, and gave her time to Meals on Wheels while residing at Towpath Towers. Her selflessness and commitment to service left a lasting impact on her community.
Helen found joy in arts and crafts during her time at The Manor and was known for her love of Elvis Presley's music. Whether it was crafting or attending concerts where she could be found right up front enjoying the music she adored, Helen embraced life with enthusiasm and warmth.
Special thanks are extended to the first-floor nurses who cared for Helen with compassion during her final days. May Helen's memory bring comfort to all who knew her and serve as a reminder of a life well-lived.
