She had two brothers who preceded her in death: Howard Jr. "Bug," and Irvin.

Helen was married to the late Otis L Brooks, and to this union was born

six children, two daughters and four sons. Two sons, Lei and Allan, preceded her death.

She leaves to remember her life, two sister, Debora and Rosa (known as tiger); her

Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren

She was a member of Mt, Sinai Baptist Church and the West Presbyterian Church. She was one of a kind and was loved by a lot of family and a hosts of friends.

She was called by many of names: Auntie, Aunt, Mom, cousin, grandma, Helen, Mrs, Brooks, Mrs. Helen, among others. If you wanted to talk to her, all you had to do was call. If you needed a laugh, she gave you that too. Her favorite words were ("damn that") "(don't worry about nothing you can't do nothing about") "(everything will be alright").

She loved to cook so her late eldest son, Lei, and her opened a family business called Mrs B's Celebrity Caterer to the Stars. She baked a lots of cakes and made the best potato salad in the world. Helen loved to party with her family and friends, dancing and playing cards and she loved music. Helen was fun to be around, always happy and smiling.

She was loved and respected wherever she went. Helen was always willing to help others and was so thougthful and kind. What beautiful memories she leaves behind.

To all my family

Granddchildren, Great-grandchildren, Nephew, Cousins and my friends

This is not a goodbye, but see you later…

"I'm Free"

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.

I'm following the path God has laid, you see. I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I've savored much, Good friends, good times-- a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee.

God wanted me now, He set me free
