Helen Burch Obituary
January 11, 2026
Durham, North Carolina - Durham~ Helen Holsclaw Burch, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Duke University Hospital. She was born in Chatham County to the late William Ralph Holsclaw and Alene Pegram Holsclaw. She is predeceased by her brother, Linwood Holsclaw and her sisters, Marie Holsclaw Johnson and Roselle Coley.
She was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and a part of the Christ is the Answer (CITA) Sunday School Class. She was the founder and business manager with her husband Bill for Central Pharmacy.
Mrs. Burch is survived by her husband, Bill Burch; daughter, Jennifer Lynne Burch (Jeannie Carrow); son, David Burch; grandchild, Hunter Casey Burch (fiancé, Paige Borland).
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, January 17th at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Jeff McCarthy. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16th at Clements Funeral Home, Durham from 6pm to 8pm.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations can be made to the Rose of Sharon Cemetery Fund at 4109 Guess Road Durham, NC 27712.

Dear Mr. Burch, Jennifer, David, Hunter, Jeannie, and other family: Our family is saddened by the news of Mrs. Burch´s passing. My parents were friends with Helen and Bill in the 50´s all throughout the years in Durham. My Mom knew Helen when she was single and met your Dad.
My parents were faithful customers of Central Pharmacy. My parents were loyal customers to Broad St drug where my Mom was Mr. Umstead´s pharmacy Assistant. This is how she knew Mr. Pickard and your Dad when he was in Pharmacy school. When Broad Street Drug closed my family of course went to Center Drug. When your parents purchased the pharmacy they remained loyal customers. It was not just their pharmacy; but a very special place they greeted their friends and trusted them for their pharmaceutical care. Through the years when my parents were aging and needed advice or help they could always depend on the love and care they received.
It was a place I went to really since I´m my Mother´s womb! Mrs. Burch would always tell me stories about she remembered from the old days and times she knew my Mom. When I became. Nurse at DIMA and DOBG I spent 40 years working with The Burch´s! Vann and our daughter and I too trusted our pharmacy needs to Central Pharmacy. The most wonderful pharmacy and family we had the privilege to know.
Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. I know God comforts the mourning and will give you much comfort in the days ahead. You are so blessed to have so many Memories to share.
