96, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Cedar Crest Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Tanzi for 72 years. Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Amelia (Viccione) Cubellis. Helen worked as an inspector for International Ladies Garment Workers Union for many years before retiring. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. Above all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her loving children, Ronald V. Tanzi and his wife Erna of North Providence, and Carol H. Tanzi of East Greenwich; cherished grandchildren, Amanda L. Areson and her husband Joseph, Stephen A. Ricci, Jr. and Adam V. Tanzi; great-grandchildren, Luciano and Santino Tanzi. She was the dear sister of the late Mildred Ruggieri, Angelina Soscia and John Cubellis.
The family would like to thank Continuum Hospice and Helen’s caretaker Janet Ventura for the care and attentiveness they gave to her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 10:00am in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St. #306, Providence, RI 02906.
