Helen L. DeFlorio, of Hecla, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at the age of 103. Born on April 18, 1922, she lived a long and fulfilling life, marked by her devotion to family, faith, and simple joys. Helen was a cherished member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Trauger. Her love for baking was well-known among family and friends, especially her delicious bread and nut rolls. Helen also enjoyed playing bingo, a pastime that brought her much joy over the years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph DeFlorio; her parents, Paul and Anna Nemeth; brothers, Edward and Paul Nemeth; and sisters, Irene Rutkosky, Regina Smail, and Rita Onusko. Helen is survived by her loving sons, Edward (Keith), Ronald (Kathy), and Joseph, all residing in Hecla. She leaves behind cherished memories with her grandchildren, Adam (Tammy) DeFlorio and Sharalyn (David) Yuhouse; as well as her great-grandchildren, Kynslee and Palmer. Helen's legacy also lives on through her numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at HOFFER WILT FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt. A Parastas service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, in the funeral home. The funeral divine liturgy will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025, in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Trauger, with Panakhyda beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, by Fr.
