ROCKVILLE-Helen Edington Gambaiani, 82, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Union Hospital, Clinton. She was a retired French and Spanish school teacher for Turkey Run High School with many years of service.
She was born January 31, 1943, in Clinton, Indiana to the late Milton Edington and Laura Thomas Edington. Her husband of 59 years, Larry James Gambaiani whom she married August 8, 1964, preceded her in death March 1, 2024.
Survivors include one son, Tony (Diana) Gambaiani of Columbus; one daughter, Gina (Brad) Titus of Terre Haute; two sisters, Jackie (Herb) Donald and Myrtle McDowell; four grandchildren, Michael Anthony, Mia Delena, Trent Nickolas, and Whitney Louise; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Nickolas J. Gambaiani on March 3, 2005, and brother-in-law Joseph McDowell.
She was a graduate of Clinton High School and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Indiana State University. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gamma Sigma chapter of Rockville Tri-Kappa, Rockville Women's Club, and Parke-Vermillion Retired Teachers Association.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 201 E. Ohio Street, Rockville, with Father Joby Puthussery officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. Visitation is 5-8 pm Monday at Gooch Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church Tuesday.
Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to Indiana Special Olympics 6200 Technology Drive, Suite 105, Indianapolis, IN 46278 in her memory.
