INTERMENT Union State Line Lutheran Cemetery Petersburg, Minnesota Helen (George) Guge, the daughter of Harry and Viola (Baker) George was born November 25, 1916, in Coon Rapids, Iowa and departed this life on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 91. She graduated from North Superior Consolidated School. On March 27, 1936, Helen was united in marriage to Myron Guge in Estherville. Following their marriage, the couple began farming on a farm southwest of Jackson, Minnesota and then moved to the home farm northwest of Estherville, which they purchased in 1944. Helen enjoyed helping with the farming as well as preparing meals for farm workers and rearing three boys. The couple, retired from farming in 1981. In 1988, Helen and Myron moved into Estherville. She entered the Good Samaritan Center in January of 2007. Helen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a long time member of "Stic-Tu-It" neighborhood club. She enjoyed keeping a large garden and canning the produce. Left to cherish Helen's memory are her children, Gary Guge and his wife, Barbara of Logan, Iowa; Dale Guge and his wife, Theresa of Sioux City, Iowa; Mark Guge and his wife, Norma of Estherville; grandchildren, Kimberly Nunez and her husband, Tony of Mondamin, Iowa; Wendy Clark of Ankeny; Jeff Guge and his wife, Rhonda of Omaha, Nebraska; Sara More and her husband, Mark of Estherville; Erin Guge of Ankeny; great grandchildren; A.J., Alivia, Keenan Nunez of Mondamin; Hannah Clark of Ankeny; Megan Bales and her husband, Gerry of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Dillion and Druin Guge of Omaha; Madison and Logan More of Estherville; Camden McKenney of Ankeny; great-great grandchildren, Austen and Makennah Bales of Virginia Beach and sister, Virginia Stanwick of Estherville. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 27, 2001 on their 65th wedding anniversary; her parents; one brother and three sisters.
