Schertz Funeral Home and Crematory - SchertzHelen D. Hernandez, of Converse, Texas, age 96, went to be with the Lord February 27, 2026 surrounded by her family. Helen was born on November 5, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Joe and Pauline Dominguez. She was married to Joe C. Hernandez on March 9, 1950 and she was preceded in her death by her husband. She is survived by her children, Joe D. Hernandez, Lynda M. Conner and husband Darryl, Cindy L. Bergman and husband Barry. She has four grandchildren, Jason Hernandez (Nikki), Alea Juull Williams (David), Danielle Trafton, Haley Bergman Fiallo (Alfredo) and three great grandchildren.
Helen was employed by the Department of Defense for 19 years. She was very active in the Converse Senior Center for 10 years.
Services for Helen D. Hernandez will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Schertz Funeral Home, beginning with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:30 am, followed by a Funeral Service. Afterwards the family will have a Private Committal Service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
