Helen L. Hill, of Trenton, New Jersey, passed away on November 5, 2025 at home surrounded by her children.
She was born on April 3, 1926 to the late Foster and Ellen Williams in Columbus County, North Carolina.
Helen attended the public schools in Robeson County, North Carolina and received numerous certificates for her excellence in child care.
She married the late Andrew Hill on September 18, 1949 and they had two children, Harry Kenneth Hill and Gwendolyn Delores Madden both of Trenton, New Jersey.
Helen worked as a Quality Control Tile Inspector at the Wenczel Tile Company of Trenton, New Jersey for approximately 15 years. Thereafter, because of her love for children, she became a self-employed child care provider where she devotedly loved and cared for many children for over 15 years.
She was an excellent homemaker, seamstress, cook, and known for her delicious coconut cakes. She was an avid and passionate reader of the Bible. Above all of life's accomplishments, she loved Jehovah God and preaching and teaching about God's kingdom was her delight. Known as Nana, Nanny, and Momma Hill to many, she was privileged to become a dear friend to all who knew her.
Helen is survived by her children, Harry Kenneth Hill and Gwendolyn Delores Madden of Trenton, New Jersey; grandchildren, Nolan and Tomica Madden of Frederick, Maryland, Damian and Danielle Madden of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, and Kenyatta Di'Asia Hill of Bear, Delaware; great grandchildren, Damian Madden, Jr. of Trenton, New Jersey and Emani Madden of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania; special nephew and niece, Charles and Mazine Willams of Lumberton, North Carolina; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and spiritual family whom she dearly loved and loved her in return.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster and Ellen Williams; sisters, Alma Peterson, Ellernore Williams, Lizzie Lennon, and Carrie Brown; and brothers, Elbert and Charlie Williams.
We would like to thank all of our dear extended and spiritual family & friends who loved, supported, cared, & encouraged mom and the family during this time and beyond. We are grateful for the cards, calls, visits, prayers, & many acts of kindness during our time of bereavement. We would also like to thank the staff at Ennoble Primary, Palliative & Hospice Care for providing support and comfort.
