Helen M. Inness, 76, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025.

She was born October 16, 1949 to Gabriel and Jessie B. (Sherwood) Inness in Peekskill, New York.

She worked 8 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Saxton's Riverside Care Center in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Helen found joy in the intricate pieces of puzzles, the challenge they presented a welcome and enjoyable pastime that she would often complete with patience. Crafting held a special place in her heart, and her creative talents shone brightly through her handmade Christmas crafts. An avid admirer of John Wayne, she could often be found recounting his classic films. Yellow roses were Helen's favorite, representing friendship and care that she so readily extended to everyone around her.

As a member of the Presbyterian faith, Helen lived a life of service, guided by her spirituality.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Lorenzo, John and Gabe Inness; sisters, Elizabeth Bouton and Jane Hubbard.

Survivors include her children, Jamieray Hutchins (Beth Garrison) and Jessie Walker (Victor Holman); grandchildren, Ernie Rhodes and Lily Garrison; bonus sons, Alex Boller and William Wood; siblings, Jessie Plimpton (Oliver), James Inness (Debbie) and Marian Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 23, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later date. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.
