JONESBORO - Helen Charlene Johnson, 87, of Jonesboro, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at The Springs. She was born on Dec. 17, 1937, in Anguilla, Miss., to the late Charlie and Gaye Johnson.
Helen lived a full and joyful life. She was the co-owner of Johnson Flying Service in Weiner, where she proudly supported the family business. She was also a devoted member of Greenfield Baptist Church. Helen had a vibrant and warm spirit. She enjoyed bowling in a Jonesboro league, shopping for treasures big and small, watching westerns, and celebrating the holidays she loved most, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving. Above all, her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren and the delight of seeing her great-grandchildren grow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilburn Johnson; her son, Rolly Johnson; and her granddaughter, Jessica Laine Johnson.
Helen leaves behind a loving family who cherished her deeply; two sons, Cory Johnson (Melaine) of Jonesboro and Trampas Johnson (April) of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Lexi Johnson, Grant Johnson (Anna Leigh), Trevor Johnson (Cara), Connor Tinsley, and Jacob Brumley; and three great-grandchildren, Hayes Austin Johnson, Mack William Johnson, and Cross Kenneth Johnson.
A graveside service honoring her life will be held today, at 2 p.m., at Clark Cemetery in Weiner. Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Johnson, Trampas Johnson, Grant Johnson, Trevor Johnson, Joseph Terrell, and Scott Matthews. Brother Mitch Ford will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Weiner Fire Department.
