Looking for employment opportunities, Helen and a few of her brothers and sisters moved to Detroit, Michigan in the late 1940's. She worked for Burrough's Adding Machine Plant and was office personnel for Desoto Automobiles.
On October 3, 1953 she married the love of her life, Raymond Krzeminiski in Detroit, Michigan and together they shared 70 years of marriage. In 1962, Helen and Ray purchased a farm in Portland, Michigan where they shared the passion for farming.
