Helen Ann (Hansen) Lindenberger, age 92, of Lake Wylie SC passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. She was born on Staten Island, NY in February 1934 to parents Hans E. Hansen and Agnes (Larsen) Hansen of Oslo, Norway.

She studied at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She later received her Master's Degree from Columbia University, Teachers College, in NYC, NY. After graduation, she worked as a Physical Education teacher in several High Schools and Jr. High Schools throughout NY and VT. She enjoyed working with the High School girls and especially enjoyed coaching the girls gymnastic team. Helen also liked spending time at her summer home in Chester NY where she took her nature walks and frequent swims in Friends Lake. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and pianist. Her family will miss her immensely.

Helen was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard W. Lindenberger, also of Staten Island. They enjoyed many retirement years together in Florida playing tennis, golf and spending time with their friends at community events. After Richard's passing in 2007, Helen remained in Florida for many years, eventually moving to Lake Wylie, SC.

Helen is survived by her 3 children: Patricia A. Harrison of Greenwich NY, Edward R. Lindenberger (Chrissy Bowman) of Mooresville NC, and Virginia A. Snyder of Cary, NC and her previous daughter-in-law Cathy Lindenberger of Statesville, NC.

Helen is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Eric D. Lindenberger, Robert Scott Lindenberger (Karen), Bradley C. Harrison (Maggie Sanderson), Olivia L. Harrison (John Gaston), Adam L. Harrison, Ashley J. Harrison, Andrew L. Snyder, and Allison C. Snyder and her 5 great-grandchildren; Alexandre Cortez Tapia, Genesis Cortez Tapia, Ezekiel Cortez Tapia,

Aurora Gaston and Evelyn Gaston.

Helen's funeral will be held at 11 am on Monday July 6, 2026 at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Helen's memory, to the Alzheimer's Association, at alz.org, selecting the option "memorial donation".
