Helen Jean Martin

Helen Martin passed away on July 31st, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born on February 7th, 1933 in Ionia, Michigan to Earl and Hazel Longwell. After graduating high school, she married Gerald Martin on September 16, 1950. Three weeks after their wedding, Gerald was drafted into the Korean War. After his service in the Army, Gerald and Helen wanted to pursue farming. They worked hard to acquire the finances needed to start farming.
Gerald developed severe asthma however, and the couple made the decision to sell their farm. The Martins settled in the dryer climate of Wyoming to help Gerald's asthma and pursue their dream in the countryside. The dream not only was the farm, but to have many children as Helen was an only child. She had much love in her heart and loved each child deeply. Over the Martin's forty-eight years of marriage, they had ten children and adopted thirteen special needs children.
Helen and Gerald's children are Cheryl (Kevin) Martin, Jerry (Andrea) Martin, Dale (Sharon) Martin, Danny (Lanelle) Martin, Tood (Sydnee) Martin, Lisa Martin, David (Penny) Martin, Aaron (Sabrina) Martin, Bethany Martin, Melinda Martin, Carrie Martin, Amy Martin, Josh Martin, Jonathan Martin, Renee Martin, Christian Martin, Merci Martin, Levi Martin, Jesse Martin, Alex Martin. Helen also has twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, children Jessica, Cody, Jaden, Shawn and granddaughter Katie.
Helen had love for God, held great compassion and mercy in her heart, and will dearly be missed by all who knew her.
