Helen Martin Obituary
Helen Joyce Martin, of Covington, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 84. Mrs. Martin proudly served her country in the United States Army from 1956 - 1958 and in the National Guard from 1978 - 1982. Mrs. Martin, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away surrounded by her family. Married to her devoted husband for 62 years, she was the heart of her home and the glue that held her family together. She loved deeply—her husband, her children, and all the animals that brought her joy. A gifted cook, she was especially known for her wonderful cakes and sweets that warmed every gathering. Her love, kindness, and strength will be cherished forever by all who knew her.She was preceded in death by her daughters, Stephanie Martin, Vanessa Simpson; grandsons, Ricky and Charlie; and parents, Grady Walter and Blanche Mae Bruce.
Survivors include her loving husband, Steven Martin; sons and daughter-in-law, Steve Martin (Kim), Larry Simpson; grandchildren, Nash Martin, Tanner Martin (Shana), Brande Simpson, Zach Crowley, Erica Vinson, Eddie; 2 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Visitation for Mrs. Martin will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Entombment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
