Helen McQuaide-Lewis Obituary
Born in Westerly, Rhode Island to the Late Arthur and Helen McQuaide of Westerly, she is survived by her husband Donald of Rockwood, children Jason Oliver, Jared Oliver, and Julie Oliver, step-children Ron Lewis and Robin Connelly, brother James McQuaide, sisters Jane Frink, Betty Petrowski, predeceased sister Marlene McQuaide Robar of Westerly RI and brother Edward McQuaide Jr., along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen was a kind and generous woman who always cared deeply for loved ones. She worked for the Visiting Nurses of Stonington for many years, and went on to work at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Portland, Maine before moving back to Westerly to care for her mother-in-law Louise Algiere Lewis.
Helen was employed by Thames Eye Group in Westerly, Rhode Island, as a surgical coordinator for Dr. Prior Parker before retiring in Rockwood, Maine to operate Bears Ben Lodge, a Bed & Breakfast that Dell and her husband operated.
Helen, also known as Dell to many, enjoyed traveling and outdoor adventure, from hiking the Appalachian Trail to snowmobiling and big game hunting with her husband.
Dell's smile and care will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held April 12th 10:00 a.m. at the Dunns Corners Presbyterian Church. Anyone wishing to donate in her memory can give to the Adult Day Center of Westerly, Rhode Island.

Although I didn't know Helen personally, I feel a connection to her through her nephew Tim.. her picture is the essence of love , devotion and caring.. sending healing thoughts to Don, Tim, family and friends.. may u go gently into grieving, and may the angels unfold u in their wings and bring u peace in the night
