Helen P. Miller, 98, of Warrior Run, passed away peacefully just six days before her 99th birthday, with her loving family and her minister by her side.
Born Aug. 7, 1926, in Kingston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (Lynn) Pearson. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1944 and from Wyoming Seminary - School of Business in 1945. She worked at Social Security as a supervisor before retiring at 36 years.
She belonged to the Swedish Trinity Lutheran Church in Wilkes-Barre, which she attended with her parents and brother. She was a faithful and active member of the Warrior Run Welsh Presbyterian Church until the time of her passing. She served as an elder and assistant organist — she was their treasurer for 40 years before retiring. Her little church on the hill meant everything to her. She sang with the Orpheus Choral Society and the Plymouth Cambrian Choral group & club. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She was married to J. Franklin Miller, with whom she enjoyed many wonderful years.
Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, J. Franklin Miller; parents, Clarence and Florence Pearson; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Marilyn; Franklin's son and his wife, Franklin and Mae; niece, Beth; and cousin, Nancy.
She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Donna (Sean and Stephanie), who lovingly cared for her until her passing; granddaughter, Sandi (her family); nephew, Jeff (Cindy and their family); cousin, (sister) Helen; and so many friends and family. She loved them dearly and cherished each and every one of them.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Wesley Village and Traditional Hospice while she was in their care.
Helen requested no wake or funeral as her final request, as she had been loved and celebrated by so many in life. If anyone wishes to send a memorial donation, please send it to the Warrior Run Welsh Presbyterian Church, 390 Chestnut St. Warrior Run, PA 18706.
