Helen T Pelcer, who just celebrated 79 years of fulfilled living, passed on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at AristaCare at Manchester. Born in Manhattan, NY on July 9, 1946, to her parents Guillermo and Ceceilia Rose Pelcer, she was certainly a "New York" girl. She spent her years growing up in Queens and Brooklyn and worked as a Paralegal for many years enjoying the New York energy.
Eventually, Helen retired and relocated to Manchester, New Jersey, where she was a parishioner at St John's Church, Lakehurst. In addition to enjoying time with family and volunteering, she did crafts and spent time with the Red Hat Ladies and Columbiettes based here in Manchester. Helen was, and always will be, a beloved and intrinsic portion of the family she leaves behind.
She is survived by a single sibling, her sister, Ligia Fiordelisi, and her partner for 35 years, Gabriel Rettagliata. While Ligia is the single sibling now, there were six.
Bobby was the first to leave us and probably the most devastating loss to Helen. He was her protector, her nemesis, and her best friend. She missed him until her very last breath.
Her sister Rosie, like Helen doted on her nieces and nephews and will also be there to greet her in heaven.
The eldest, Henrietta, had six of her own, and they will all miss her greatly, Helen Anne, Joyce, Douglas, Rosalie, Raymond, and Richard.
Ligia has two, Eric and Linda.
William, her brother had four who has also passed, created great love in his children, Michael John, MaryEllen, Margaret, and Matthew.
Another brother, Carlos, had three Jean Paul, Eve, and Jasmine.
They join the crowd of cousins all the way from Ville Franche, France. All the cousins will miss Helen greatly.
We will all remember the special light and love Helen brought to each occasion. She brought joy, tenderness, and selflessness to those around her, carrying a ginormous personality that filled every room she entered.
A woman of remarkable strength, Helen witnessed the towers fall and carried that resilience with her throughout life. To describe her is like trying to capture lightning in a bottle-brilliant, rare, and unforgettable. No half-page tribute, nor even a book, could ever do justice to the moments she lived or the memories she created.
Helen gave her family the New York spirit of grit and fortitude that shaped her, and it is one of the many reasons her presence will always remain-like a lasting hug-for those who love her.
Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester with a 7:30 PM service.
Funeral Liturgy will be the following morning at 11:00 AM at St John's Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733.
