Helen Prussman

Helen E. Prussman, nee McLean, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on June 13, 2024, in Jacksonville, FL, at the age of 71. She was born on May 13, 1953, in Rahamans Park, East Bank, Guyana, to Mildred McLean (née Wilson) and George McLean, both of whom preceded her in death.
Helen spent her early years in Guyana, where she attended St. Rose's High School before immigrating to the United States. Her professional career began in banking and then moved forward into building management. Later on she became a flight attendant, working for 3 different airlines, which led her to many different countries and to develop lifelong friendships with her colleagues. On October 7, 1990, she married the love of her life, Neil S. Prussman, with whom she shared 33 happy years.
In addition to her passion for traveling, Helen had a deep love for gardening, watching football and tennis, and music and dancing. She had a vibrant personality that left an impression on everyone she met.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, Neil; devoted daughter, Natalie-Ann; grandsons, Nicholas, Jason, and Zachary; sisters, Sharman Manion and Faithe McLean; son-in-law, Ron Abrams; and brother-in-law Michael Manion; and the Ockerman family, Tim, Jeanne, Dan and Katie.
A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29th at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with a Gathering prior from 10-11 a.m.
