Helen Rivinius, 98, Bismarck, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at a Bismarck Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N 4th St., Bismarck. For those unable to attend the service, it will be livestreamed on the church website. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12 from 5-7:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway Bismarck.
Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery, Bismarck.
Helen Christine was born on September 11, 1924, to Horace and Kristine (Nielson) Holtan in Washburn, ND. She attended school in Falkirk and graduated from Washburn High School in 1942. She was employed with the ND State Motor Vehicle Department and the Unemployment Compensation Division at the ND State Capitol in Bismarck.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck where she was active in the Lutheran Daughters of Reformation, better known as the L.D.R of which she served as Circuit President.
She married Harold J. Rivinius on January 2, 1950 and he passed away on December 13, 1993. They were blessed with twins, Carol Jean and Paul John, along with two grandchildren, Alicia and Jonathan.
She is survived by her son, Paul Rivinius, Bismarck; grandchildren Alicia Wilma and her husband Craig Mickelson, Mahtomedi, MN and Jonathan Wilma, Bismarck; son-in-law, Mike Wilma, Bismarck; sisters, Donna Kleingartner, Bismarck and Joy Larison, Peru, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; daughter, Carol Wilma and her parents, Horace and Kristine Holtan.
