Helen Strohecker Sholley, 98, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on the family farm in Pillow, Pennsylvania, Helen lived a life marked by faith, hope, and love.
She spent many years in Lewisburg and later in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, where she was a beloved member of the community, including the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene. Helen dedicated her life to her family, her church, and her unwavering faith. Whether teaching Sunday School, baking her famous pies, hosting cherished gatherings in her home, or offering a kind and encouraging word, Helen touched countless lives through small acts of love and service.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Paul Sholley, her parents Daniel and Carrie Strohecker, her siblings Mary, Margaret, May, and Walter, and many dear friends.
Helen is survived by her three children: Kerry Sholley (wife Diane), Carol Sholley Troup (husband Mark), and Lynn Sholley (wife Luann); her six grandchildren Jared Sholley (wife Sarah), Jennifer Sholley Hodge (husband Ben), Josh Troup (wife Meaghan), Lauren Sholley White (husband Brandon), Sara Sholley Trump (husband Logan), and Ethan Troup (wife Holly); and her twelve great-grandchildren Hayden Hodge, Madeline Hodge, Karter Sholley, Aspen Sholley, Saige Sholley, Isabelle Troup, Mathias Troup, Zeke White, Elisabeth White, Harper Ansell, Riley Troup, and Ella Troup. She is also survived by her loving sister, Martha Strohecker Bohner.
Helen’s legacy is one of humility, generous love, and quiet strength. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren carry forward her spirit of kindness, devotion, and grace.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
