Helen Shoulders, 70, passed away on November 21, 2025, in Rock Island, IL after losing her stoic fight with cancer.
Helen is survived by Alex Shoulders - son, Alicia Shoulders - daughter, Mary Ann Wands( a.k.a. Memau) - mother, Keegan Shoulders - grandson, Reagan Shoulders - granddaughter, Kelly Shoulders - daughter-in-law, Brooke Denato - granddaughter, Lucky Williams - great-grandchild, Mary Ann Walls - sister, Marc Walls - nephew, Samantha Hartnett - niece, Rachel Walls - niece, Kathy Jarman - sister, Alan Jarman - nephew, Tony Jarman - nephew.
Helen is preceded in death by her father, Walter A Wands.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. The service for Helen Helen Shoulders will be held privately with family at a later date. Her wishes are to be spread along the Lake Michigan water way.

Helen was an English major with a lifelong passion for reading, language, and the arts. She found joy in studying French and held a deep appreciation for creativity in all its forms. Some of her happiest moments were spent with her sisters and mother, where their gatherings were filled with stories and roaring laughter.
She was a devoted grandmother, known for gifting M&M’s—a simple gesture that reflected her boundless love for her grandchildren and the delight she took in every moment shared with them. Helen also cherished the outdoors. Whether she was fishing, spending time by the water, or simply enjoying a beautiful day in the garden, nature brought her peace and comfort.
In recent years, Terry became a special part of Helen’s life. His companionship and kindness brought her joy, warmth, and a renewed sense of connection.
Helen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and the happiness she found in life’s simple pleasures. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
