Helen Simpson

Born December 2, 1928, Goldston, NC.

Died November 24, 2025, Ashland, KY

Helen moved to Ashland in 1968 with her husband, John and it was home for the rest of her life. She loved to cook for family and friends and tend to her flowers. She was always ready for an adventure, enjoying many trips and visits to see family in NC well into her nineties.

Helen was a kind, generous soul, loved by all who met her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by two children, Kevin (Huntington WV), Beth (Asheville NC), a son-in law, Lane, four grandchildren, Heather, Mac, Levi and Wiley, one great grandchild, Willow and a sister Doris (Durham NC) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by John, her husband of 67 years and her sister, Sabra.

A memorial will be held in Goldston at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Morning Pointe Foundation(The Lantern at Morning Pointe where Helen received loving care during the last year of her life) or Ashland Community Hospice Care (where she also received loving care in her last days).
