SMITH, Helen D., age 91, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024, at her residence.
Helen was born on June 12, 1932, in Middletown to Thomas and Carmie McGill. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Earl, in 2014, her parents, three sisters, and one brother. She is survived by one son, Bill (Carol) Smith, two step-grandsons, Mike and Brian Shearer, and two step-great-granddaughters, Jordan and Megan Shearer.
Friendly, welcoming, caring, and giving, Helen had an outgoing personality and never knew a stranger. She had a special skill of finding value for antiques at estate sales and other venues, which she resold for value. She had many friends and loved shopping and entertaining guests for special events. Her husband loved horses, which resulted in them traveling to Iowa for horse shows and attending the Lebanon Christmas parade each year.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the near future at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
Special thanks to Dee Dee Schuler and Steve and Karen Creech for all their support. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
