Ms. Helena F. Barry

Waltham- Miss Helena F. Barry of Waltham died Wednesday June 30, 2010 in the Leland Home in Waltham. She was 92. Helena was born in Springfield on August 23, 1917, a daughter of the late John D. and Catherine (Pratt) Barry, she was an inspector for the Raytheon Corporation in Waltham for thirty years until her retirement in 1979. She was a lifelong resident of Waltham and was a daily communicant at Saint Mary’s Church. Helena leaves her sister, Martha Barry of Waltham, her brother Edward Barry of Leominster, twenty-four nieces and nephews, and many grand nieces and grand nephews. She was also the sister of the late Daniel Barry, Dennis Barry, George Barry, Barbara Herlihy, and Jane Fraize. Family and friends will honor and remember Helena’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Monday from 3 to 7p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
