Helena Whitney, age 71, of South Boston formerly of Easton, passed away peacefully at the Newton-Wellsley Hospital on November 24, 2025.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late George Whitney and Frances (Giglio) Whitney.
Helena was raised in South Boston and Roxbury.
Helena was a resident of Easton for 35 years, before moving back to South Boston.
She was formerly employed with the Polaroid Company for 28 years. Helena was a Boston Sports fan and enjoyed watching football and baseball.
Her most enjoyment was spent caring for her son Joe and the time spent with one another.
Helena is survived by her son, Joseph Whitney Dame of Easton; a brother, Paul "Jimmy" Whitney of Florida; a sister, Linda Whitney of South Boston and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Carol Ann Whitney, George Whitney, Maryiane Walls, Janet Victoria, Maria Whitney, Thomas Whitney and Joseph Whitney; her son's father, the late Francis Dame.
Funeral mass in which relatives and friends may attend will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, Easton on Thursday, December 4th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton.
Visiting hours will be held prior to Helena's funeral mass will be held from the Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington St (Rte. 138),Easton from 9:00am to 10:30am. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the National MS Society, PO Box 289, Canton, MA 02021.
