Helene Forester Bailey

Helene Forester Bailey died on April 24, 2025, at the age of 71 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, dying in a coma as a result of a fall. She received exemplary care from the staff; especially Frank Watts, who gave her last rights, and visited daily and prayed over her. Helene is survived by her brothers John and Tim, predeceased by brother Robert and parents Robert James and Helene Shahan Forester. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Someone who was especially close to our sister, a dear and faithful friend, Melissa Martin. She stood by Helene for many, many years, and even after moving away helped her through difficult times.
Fond are the memories of bass fishing in beautiful Lake Verret with Helene, who was a good and avid angler. Many were the fish fries enjoyed by family and friends following these trips.
Helene was a cheerleader at Baton Rouge High and a sports enthusiast, especially football. She could (and would) correct erroneous statistics quoted by her brothers.
Also are the thoughts of her at a young age. The three brothers would often get into a wrestling match (fight). The pile would usually end up rolling over on top of her. The prompt cry was always the same, "Can't breathe, can't breathe!"
Helene loved to be around water and owned a condo in Fort Morgan, Alabama. She would enjoy her 5th floor view of the Gulf out of one window or Mobile Bay out of another.
There will be a private funeral service for our sister. She will be greatly missed, and our prayer is that she is resting in the loving arms of Jesus and His mother.
