Verona – Helene M. Stampfl, age 79, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Waunakee Manor with her son by her side. She was born on May 17, 1943, in Baraboo, WI, the daughter of Henry and Fern (Hinz) Steinhorst Sr. Helene graduated from Baraboo High School in 1961. She was united in marriage to Linus Stampfl on October 18, 1969, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Verona. She worked at Bancroft Dairy, American Family Insurance-Paul Marty Agency, Cleary Builders and Miller's Supermarket in Verona.
Helene is survived by her children, Randy (Mary Jo) Stampfl and Amanda (Corey) Leister; grandchildren, Camden and Braeden Stampfl, and RaeAnne and Austin Leister; sister, Fay Rentmeester; sister-in-law, Dianne Lease; brothers-in-law, Richard (Ruth) Stampfl and Chuck (Judy) Stampfl; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Henry (Dolores) Steinhorst Jr. "Hank"; and brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Rentmeester.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 3, 2023, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 220 Enterprise Dr, Verona. A visitation will take place at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.
