Hellen Marie Newton was born March 21, 1929 in Ashley, MI a daughter of Ray and Ethel (Parks) Newton. She graduated Ashley High School in 1948 and then completed nursing school in Owosso after 2 years. Hellen married 3 times in her life. She married Warren Leckrone, Max Youngs and Duane Walper. All three preceded her in death. Hellen enjoyed playing chicken foot dominos, gardening, Bible study, volunteering at the Durand Church of the Nazarene, the nursing home ministry of Howell and the jail ministry of Howell. Prior to her retirement, she was in nursing for 10 years, Day Care for 8 years and a custodian for Livingston County for over 20 years.
Hellen is survived by her son, Gary (Lou) Leckrone; grandchildren, Michael Diericks, Dennis Leckrone and John Leckrone; great grandchildren, David Leckrone, Stephanie Leckrone, Courtney Diericks, Emme LaLonde, Brandon Diericks, Nathan Kraus and Michael Wall. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Warren Leckrone, Max Youngs and Duane Walper; sister, Bernice Elliott; and daughter, Dianne Wall.
Memorial Contributions in Hellen's name are suggested to the Durand Church of the Nazarene. Online condolences may be sent at www.watkinsfuneralhomes.com
