Hellon Audrey DeFoor

Mrs. Hellon Audrey Ay-
ers DeFoor, age 88, of
Highway 184 South, Toc-
coa, Ga., passed away Fri-
day, May 2, 2025, at the
Friendship Nursing and
Rehab Center in Cleve-
land, Ga.
A daughter of the late
Ernest and Lila Kesler Ay-
ers, she was born Aug. 9,
1936, in Franklin County,
Georgia, where she lived
her entire life. Hellon was
a member of the Lamar
Christian Church. She
loved gardening and yard
work. She was employed
with the Armstrong Car-
pet Company for two years
but devoted her entire life
as a caregiver for others.
In addition to her par-
ents; she was preceded in
death by a son Roy Gene
DeFoor, two sisters, Lavell
Payne and Emmie Joyce
Ayers Dewberry, and by a
brother; Gerald Ayers. She
was the last member of her
immediate family.
Survivors include her
husband; Joe DeFoor, of
Cleveland, Ga.; two daugh-
ters, Diane Whitfield, of
Toccoa, and Sheila (Chris)
Jones, of Cleveland, Ga.; a
daughter-in-law, Terry
Hosea DeFoor, of Toccoa,
Ga.; six grandchildren,
three great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grand-
child; and a number of
nieces and nephews also
survive.
Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
May 6, 2025, in the Hill-
crest Chapel of the Acree-
Davis Funeral Home with
the Rev. Jerrell Beatty offi-
ciating. The following
served as pallbearers; Ja-
son Whitfield, Cody
Stallings, Chris Jones,
Tim Kelley, Danny Dew-
berry and Tim Epps.
The family received
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral home on Tuesday
from 12 p.m. until the ser-
