Helmut Wilhelm Wuerzinger

Helmut Wuerzinger, of Thompsonville, MI, passed away peacefully January 9th, 2026. He was born in Passau Germany, to Rudolf and Maria Wurzinger, and was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rudy.
After coming to the United States, Helmut met the love of his life, Grace, and they married in 1958. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, laughter and family.
Helmut worked as a train engineer for 42 years. Beyond his profession he was also a licensed mechanic, a gifted musician (drummer), a skilled fisherman, an animal lover, and a true charmer.
"Herman the German" was very proud of his Bavarian heritage. He was known and loved by so many people. He had an unmatched presence and a million dollar smile that left a remarkable impression. If you met him, you never forgot him. If you needed him, he was always there. He was truly one of a kind. If you were lucky enough to be loved by Helmut, you knew it was a special and forever gift; one that will continue to live on in memory and in heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife Grace, his daughters Maria Weber, and Elizabeth Erdt (Robert), his brother Peter (Traudi), grandsons Mitchel (Lindsey), Kevin, and Christian, and his great granddaughter Madeline, all of whom were a tremendous source of pride and joy for him.
