Henrette Garrow Obituary

HINESVILLE, Ga. -- Eyette Garrow, 87, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. Born in St. Laurent De La Salle, Vendée, France, on September 27, 1938, she brought warmth, grace and strength into every life she touched.
In 1955, Eyette married the love of her life, Lawrence Garrow, in France.
In 1963, the couple moved to Fort Stewart, Georgia, where they began a new chapter together. After becoming a proud U.S. citizen, Eyette embraced her new home wholeheartedly, never missing an opportunity to vote and contribute to her community.
A lifelong advocate for animals, Eyette helped establish the Liberty County Humane Society in the 1970s, alongside dear friends, Lila Bennett and Iris Spradley. Her passion for animals inspired her to open La Maison Du Caniche, a beloved local business where she worked diligently for over 30 years, caring for countless pets and their families. From chihuahuas to Great Danes, every animal that came through her door - and every pet she shared her life with - was loved with her whole heart.
Eyette is survived by her children, Pat Garrow and Barbara McCormick; her grandchildren, Alison Stegall (husband, Adam) and Adrienne Bentley; and her great-grandchildren, Jackie Stegall, Lawrence Stegall and Charlotte Johnston. She is also survived by her sister, Lucette Loisel, and brother-in-law, Hervé Loisel; her niece, Natalie Touchént; her nephew, Philippe Loisel; and extended family members, Millard Rushing, Maryse Jenkinson, Wendy and Richard Sochia, Lynette Wetmore, Iris Poteet, Cynthia Floyd, Nellie Nelson and Lynn and Joe Cannon. She will be dearly missed by her beloved chihuahua, Trent.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Garrow; and her parents, Germaine and Marie (Bely) DuBois.
Eyette's life was far greater than words can capture, woven together by the many people too numerous to recount here, but always appreciated. The animals and memories that made it so full and beautiful will always be appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Liberty County Humane Society, K-9 Battle Buddies, St. Stephen's Catholic Church or Carpathia Paws.
