Henrietta Seekins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Searsport on Jun. 24, 2025.
Stockton Springs – Henrietta Grace Seekins, 91, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025. She was born on February 12, 1934, the beloved daughter of Myron and Ann (Rogers) Curtis.

Henrietta, affectionately known as "Nanny" to so many, was the heart of her family and a loving presence in the lives of all who knew her. A devoted mother, nurturing caregiver, and steadfast friend, she gave her time and love generously. Her warm home was a place of comfort and joy, always filled with the scent of fresh-baked peanut butter cookies and the sound of laughter.

She had a lifelong love of knitting, crocheting, puzzles, and long walks. Her gentle hands created countless keepsakes, while her steady heart cared for dozens of children over the years. As a stay-at-home mother, she poured her energy into raising her family and helping others do the same-offering childcare to many in her community.

Henrietta was always ready to help. She served as a Cub Scout Leader, volunteered for the American Cancer Society, and was a dependable face at public suppers and community events. Her generosity extended to anyone in need-spending countless hours caring for friends and neighbors. A familiar figure on her daily walks to the local store, she cherished the simple joy of sharing a cup of coffee with her many friends.

To Henrietta, family meant everything. Her life was centered around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she adored deeply.

She is survived by her loving children: Robert E. Seekins, Beth Seekins, Brenda Thomas and husband Fred Thomas, and Brent Seekins and wife Alta Seekins. Cherished grandchildren: Bryce Seekins and wife Clae, Alexis Robinson and husband Christian, Luke Thomas and fiancée Melissa Kelsey, Emily Thomas and husband Tyler Slomkowski, Jessie Tirado, and Aaron Seekins. Treasured great-grandchildren: Alivia Hillis, Keegan and Ella Robinson, Amelia and Lainey Seekins, Lilly Palmer and Rosie Tirado, and Mae Slomkowski and Zoe Slomkowski. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law, Mary Curtis.

Henrietta was predeceased by her husband, Robert K. Seekins; her grandson, Kristopher Seekins; her sister, Frances Gray; and her brother, Roger Curtis.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Holly Westover for her many years of devoted care and friendship to Henrietta.

A celebration of Henrietta's life will be held on July 12, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Searsport Community Center, Prospect Street, Searsport. Arrangements are under the care of Young Funeral Home, Searsport.
