Mrs. Henrietta Hunter Vinson, was born March 1, 1956 in Smithfield, NC. She transitioned Monday January 1, 2024 while a patient at Johnston UNC Health Smithfield, NC. Henrietta was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lena Hunter.
Henrietta attended schools in Johnston County and graduated with the "Class of 1974" from Smithfield-Selma Sr. High School. She worked for many years in retail with Carolina Pottery and Liz Claiborne in Smithfield. Her hobbies included watching NBA and College basketball with her husband Al. Her favorites were the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and South Carolina women's basketball teams. She often critiqued the games with her cousin Blondell Sanders Watson and sisters Bettie Williams and Lena Powell. The Young and the Restless was one of her passions and she eventually got Al hooked on the show to the point he enjoyed it more than her. Mrs. Vinson loved being with her grandkids and sharing life experiences, talking with her sons and visiting her home church, Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
Henrietta is survived by her husband, Albert "Al" Bernard Vinson, sons; Manteno Jarriel Stancil, Mauklin Jarvon Stancil, bonus son; Darrius B. Vinson, siblings; Theodore Hunter, Bettie H. Williams, Lena H. Powell, twelve grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
