WEST CHESTERFIELD-Henry L. Badner DDS, 78, of Ireland Street passed away peacefully on Sunday morning with his wife at his side. Henry was born in Charleston, WV., a son of David Badner & Evelyn Mendolshon. He was raised and educated in West Virginia and went on to receive his Degree in Dentistry. He served as a Captain with the US Army, accepting a commission in 1970 and served with the 3rd US Army as a Dentist. He returned home to West Virginia, working as a Dentist for the South West Virginia Regional Health Center before moving to Western Massachusetts. He practiced privately for over 25 years in Williamsburg, and at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He was a life member of the ADA and served on the Board of Health and the Planning Bd. in Chesterfield for many years. He was an avid cyclist and a member of the USCF Cycling Foundation. In his spare time, he enjoyed rehabbing real estate, tinkering with automobiles and mechanics, playing the guitar and motorcycling. He leaves wife, Jean M. Weller of West Chesterfield. Two stepsons; Eric Kenyon of Nevada City, CA and Zachariah Gorham of West Chesterfield. His sister, Gail Sargeant of Denver, Colorado and a niece and nephew. All services are private and at Dr. Badner's request he will be cremated and interred in Ireland Street Cemetery.
A Celebration of his life will be announced later this summer. Donations in his memory may be made the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Rd, Pittsfield, MA 01201or the Dakin Animal Shelter, 171 Union St, Springfield, MA 01105
