Henry Bourque Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Family Life Funeral Homes - Sault Sainte Marie (formerly Clark Hovie Galer on Oct. 20, 2022.
October 7, 1951 – October 18, 2022
Henry Emile Bourque age, 71, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away October 18, 2022, peacefully at home with his family.
Henry was born on October 7, 1951, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to the late Peter and Pauline (Deuman) Bourque. He graduated from Sault High School with the class of 1971. He worked for years at the Soo Locks where he took great pride in keeping the park in beautiful condition. At home Henry loved his small farm, from baling hay to milking cows. He loved teaching his two children, Carley and Joe, about farming and passed on his hard working attitude to them. Henry enjoyed working on trucks and tractors. Joe or one of his friends always had a project to work on in the garage, where he would spend hours with the guys. Using tools handed down from his father, he loved to do wood working and always ended up working on the tools more than the wood. One of his biggest accomplishments was building the House where he lived for many years. Henry was always there with a joke and he loved to make everyone laugh by stirring the pot. His laughter could be heard wherever he was and his smile was always contagious.
Henry is survived by his wife Susan, to whom he was married 49 years; 2 children: Carley (Tom) Ball of Pickford and Joe "Mel" of Sault Ste. Marie. 1 Granddaughter: Linden Bourque of Sault Ste. Marie. He is also survived by his siblings: Loretta (Earl) Tompkins of Muskegon, Lee (Annette) Borst of Irons, and Dan (Velma) Bourque of Grand Haven.
A visitation and funeral will be held on Monday October 24, 2022, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a brief service. The burial will be at Riverside Cemetery immediately after.
