Mr. Henry A. Dreyer Jr.

Many good times were had with the social gatherings with the adhoc band providing the music. The memories are still vivid. Henry was an intrical part of those gatherings. RIP

I remember Henry as man of integrity and deeply in love with Carol and his children and family. I think of Henry and his dad and mom when I go to their farm. I am deeply grateful that the farm still remains, and is a reminder of this lovely family. Isaiah 65;21-22: “And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. And the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full...”. There is a promised hope.... (Lois OSullivan)

I am so sorry to hear of Henry's passing.He was always so helpful at the stand answering questions and giving gardening advice. Members of our Floraphile garden club enjoyed his and Jessica's workshop and hospitality at the farm just a few months ago. He will be missed.

Henry was a wonderful person and will be missed very much.

Hilma and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Henry's death. We recalled the many times we were in his company for Christmas and Holloween parties and smiled at the antics that happened. We were glad to have known him for his wit, love of the farm, and all around good guy.

Dear Carol and Family,

I was shocked to learn today of Henry's death. It's beyond words, something that is truly the saddest news. I can picture Henry on that big tractor going from the farm over to Gallows Hill Road. And his always pleasant manner when he greeted you with a smile at the farm....doing what he loved.

Our condolences to all the family. We will remember Henry for all the contributions he made to Cranford, how he loved his town and his farm.

To the whole Dryer family, please except my condolences on the passing of your husband, dad, uncle, brother, friend. He was a gentle-man bigger then life, who lived ,ran, and built a beautiful part of Cranford 's history. I will miss him riding his tractor on the back streets of Cranford slowing traffic, making me love Cranford that much more to still have a wonderful working farm. Peace, blessing and love from the whole McDonough family.

Henry lived up to the very essence of the job description and words of our Creator to the first man on Earth; "Be fruitful and subdue the the earth. Here I am giving you every seed-bearing plant and every seed bearing fruit." Mr. & Mrs. senior passed along a gift to us all and thus Henry, John, their lovely and dignified wives and children gave Cranford a thriving farm.
There are no words that I can come up with to describe how I feel. I never met anyone who disliked Henry. When the salt of the earth meets the earth, there remains the promise that one day, those in God's memory will return. I love you all, Lois

My memories of Henry are buying produce and seeds from their farm and his kindness to me when I was short of money.

Worked at the stand for several years and always loved it. Our parents played pinochle together every Tuesday afternoon in the winter time when they were not away. The saved kale after the frost hit so that we had it every Thanksgiving. There were so many great memories thru the years. My prayers will be with you and your family
Thru this holiday season. Our families have always been intertwined in one way or another.

I worked at Dreyer's as a skinny field hand just out of high school summers and winters for a few years during college. Though that was over forty years ago, my memories of those times are still very sharp. Henry worked right beside us weeding, picking and planting, and answered all four million of my questions about farming and life honestly and kindly. I learned alot about both from Henry and his brother John in those years, and marvelled at their thriving enterprise at a time when Union County was down to its last few farms. They made it look easy. And it wasn't. Hent will always be larger than life to me. His legacy is ensconced in the acres he worked and the greenhouses he tended and the tractors he painted. My sincerest regrets to his family.

A true son of Cranford. Legions will miss Henry.
