Henry John Evenhouse Jr., age 79, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, after a battle with Alzheimer's.
Henry was born in Grand Rapids on August 29, 1944, to Rev. Henry and Bertha Evenhouse. Henry was the fourth of six children. After graduating from Grand Rapids Christian High, Henry served in the Army National Guard. He completed his undergraduate studies at Calvin College and later received his master's degree from Grand Valley. His profession was as a small business and personal tax CPA in Grand Rapids.
Henry is survived by his sons: Matt Evenhouse and Mike Evenhouse; granddaughters: Kyela, Myka, and Alena; siblings: William and Nelle Evenhouse, Aldrich and Dr. Gwen Evenhouse, Deanne and Robert Bolt, Mary and Ken Baron, Paul and Jan Evenhouse; as well as many nephews and a few nieces.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Plymouth Heights CRC, 1800 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids MI 49506. Rev. Steve DeVries will officiate. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.

My memories of my cousin Hank are numerous. Perhaps one of the earliest was Hank and I sneaking our eyes open during his Dad's mealtime prayers and then trying to contain our childish giggles. We were full time playmates while growing up. See you on the other side. Hank!!
