Enrique Ureste Garcia, also known as Henry, was born on August 6, 1927 in Karnes County, Texas, near the community of Green, where he lived most of his life. He was one of 11 children born to Teclo Johnson Garcia and Gregoria Ureste Garcia. He attended school at the Green Schoolhouse. Henry was a farmer/rancher, an avid hunter and an excellent horseman. He spent many days riding and breaking horses and riding on trail rides. Henry also had a wealth of knowledge about the outdoors. He was an amazing shot with a rifle. Hunting was a way of life for him and he passed that on to his family. He also spent many years working at Alamo Lumber and Cement in Kenedy as a cement truck driver. In his retirement years, he started a local mowing business, Henry loved spending time with his family and friends and he enjoyed listening to anyone who could tell an interesting story. Henry was a great friend to many.

He spent his final years at Bluebonnet Nursing Home where he made many good friends and enjoyed the good company and care of the staff. Henry will be remembered by many and truly missed.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Teclo and Gregoria Garcia, his brothers, Teclo Garcia, Jr, Raul Garcia, Robert Garcia, Israel Garcia; sisters, Anita Wisar, Crisanta Muniz, Gregoria Cantu, Raquel Simpson, and Margarita Jimenez, and grandson, Nicolas Garcia.

Henry is survived by his children, Henry Garcia, Jr. of Kenedy, Teclo Jaime Garcia and wife Dinae of McAllen, Tina Sczepanik and husband Kirk of Kenedy; his sister, Oralia Mayernik of Hermitage, TN; his grandchildren, Joseph Barkley, Sarah Barkley, Zacary Garcia, Robert Sczepanik, Kaylie Garcia; his great-grandchildren, Belladonna, Sirena, Emalynn, Benjamin, Luna, and Kenny; and also numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
