Henry Joe Harris, 62, of Burlington, died Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born June 21, 1963, in Pittsfield, IL, he was the son of Henry Joseph and Theresa Lorene (Sherwood) Harris. On August 23, 1985, he married Julie Ann Bolander.
Henry worked for many years as a general contractor - he owned and operated his own business, H & J Home Improvement, LLC. Henry could fix just about anything and was a hard worker. He never met a stranger and always looked forward to meeting new people. He had a good heart and didn't hold a grudge against others. Henry enjoyed being the life of the party and often was! It wouldn't be surprising to show up to his home and hear the music blasting and his grandkids dancing around the speaker.
Henry loved his family deeply. He was so proud of his children and adored his grandchildren. His larger than life personality, kindness and love will be missed deeply, but his memory will continue on through all who love him.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Julie; children, Jacob Harris and Lacey Harris; grandchildren, Gemma Kay Harris, Marlee Rae Harris, and River Leigh Rose Harris; siblings, JoAnn (Dewayne) Weir, Don Harris, and Albert (Sherry) Harris; father-in-law, Paul Bolander; several nieces, nephews and numerous friends; and best fur buddy, Calvin.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Harris will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 14, 2025, at Carman Cemetery, in Carman, IL, with Pastor Dean Graber officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington. Memorials may be mailed directly to the Hospice House (1606 Washington Road, West Burlington), or to the family's home (1305 Birdie Street, Burlington).
Please continue to keep the Harris family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
