Henry Kalfsbeek Obituary

Henry Hiram Kalfsbeek died unexpectedly on January 24, 2024, in Dunnigan, California. He was 49 years old.

Henry was born to Joe and Mary K. (Smith) Kalfsbeek on January 14, 1975, in Woodland, California. He attended Arbuckle area schools and graduated from Pierce High School in 1993, before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Business and Crop Science from Chico State University in 1999.

Growing up in a farming family, agriculture was Henry's passion. In addition to working a farming operation with his dad, Henry was also a PCA (Pest Control Advisor) for the last 24 years with Grow West.

Henry met his wife of nearly 16 years, Renee in August of 2005. They were married on February 2, 2008, in Sacramento, California. In 2010, they welcomed their son Tyler and daughter Blake joined the family in 2013.

Henry was a family man, his wife and kids meant everything to him. Their life revolved around activities and vacations for the whole family. They visited National Parks, hiked, fished, hunted and golfed together.

Although Henry will be missed beyond measure, there is some solace in knowing Henry died doing something he loved: Duck hunting with his son. May we all be so blessed.

Henry is survived by his wife of 15 years, Renee (Rossi) Kalfsbeek of Woodland; son, Tyler, 13, and daughter, Blake, 11; parents, Joe and Mary K. Kalfsbeek of Arbuckle; grandmother, Mona Smith of Arbuckle; sister, Susie Doherty (Tim); nephew, Ryan; and nieces, Holly and Grace Doherty of Dunnigan; in-laws, Sergio and Cathy Rossi of Woodland; brother-in-law, Robert Rossi of Foster City; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Henry is preceded in death by his sister, Holly Ann Kalfsbeek; grandparents, Bernie and Hiram Kalfsbeek; grandfather, Holley Smith; and uncles, Mike Smith, Guy Kalfsbeek and Oscar Kalfsbeek.

A Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024, at McNary-Moore Funeral Chapel, 107 Fifth Street, Colusa.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on February 6, 2024, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 408 Laurel Street, Arbuckle with a private burial immediately following at the Arbuckle Cemetery. A celebration of Henry's life will follow at the Yolo Fliers Golf Course, 17980 Road 94B, Woodland.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Henry Kalfsbeek Family Trust in c/o Umpqua Bank, PO Box 1218, Arbuckle, CA 95912; Arbuckle Golf Course or Arbuckle Fire Department.

McNary-Moore of Colusa is handling the arrangements.
