Memorial Funeral Home - Sioux CenterHenry Kroon, 88 of Sioux Center, died Monday, March 2, 2026, in Sioux Center at the Crown Pointe Care Center.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at New Life Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA, with Rev. Dan Kruse officiating.
Visitation with refreshments and fellowship will be one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be directed to Hope Haven, 1800 19th Street, Rock Valley, Iowa 51247.
Henry Lloyd Kroon was born February 19, 1938, to Richard and Anna (DeGroot) Kroon, In Sioux Center.
On September 2, 1960, was joined in marriage to Marian K Meendering. The couple made their home in Sioux Center, IA. They had three children and served as foster parents to four additional children.
Henry proudly served in the US Air National Guard. He worked as a salesman for lumber and building supply companies. He was a charter member of New Life Reformed Church.
In his free time, he enjoyed singing in choirs and quartets, working with his hands building and remodeling. Later in life, he found enjoyment fixing wheelchairs at Hope Haven. He enjoyed many morning and afternoon coffee groups with friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his three children: A son, Karlowe (Jean) Kroon of Virginia and their children: Jeremy (Jessica) Kroon of South Dakota (Lydia, Lucas, and Lawson), Matthew (Jennifer) Kroon of Virginia (Elijah and Mckenzie); daughters: Lisa L Kroon of Iowa, Karen (Scott) Rens of Iowa and their children Emily (Kyle) Hull of Massachusetts (Harper), Alexander Rens and Samuel Rens of Iowa. He also survived by brothers: Veryl (Barb) Kroon of Minnesota, Lyle Kroon of South Dakota, a sister Phyllis Vander Wel of Iowa; sisters-in-law, Gert De Groot, Jo Mulder, Alberta Hall and Ruth (Ralph) Hollander.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife; parents and his parents-in-law, a brother Arvin Kroon; sisters-in-law: Kathy Kroon, Fanny (Louis) Deboer, Janice Meendering, and Jeannetta Meendering; brothers-in-law: Dave VanderWel, Thomas De Groot, Jake (Jan) Meendering, Robert Hall and Fred Mulder.
